Preview:2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo
When we first saw the Hyundai Veloster, we immediately fell in like, but when the new Turbo version took its turn, we were in love. The Turbo version adds aggression and aerodynamic stability to the stout little machine, allowing it to look better than ever. The Veloster Turbo’s unique design takes inspiration from a custom high-performance sport bike, starting with the exhaust system. The standard trapezoidal center exhaust has been replaced with two larger free flowing circular pipes that, combined with new intake manifold, also allowed engineers to give the engine a more robust sound to delight enthusiasts. The Veloster received a bigger, bolder hexagonal front grille, more sculpted side skirts, and a new dynamic rear bumper with prominent diffuser vents in the lower fascia as aprt of the aeridynamic package associated with the Turbo model. A first for Hyundai is the new Matte Gray paint that can be combined with a set of new 18" gray wheels with chrome inserts. The new wheel...

First look:2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG
Anyone in the market for a blazing fast (and expensive) roadster would no doubt be content with the new Mercedes SL63 AMG, which Benz claims rushes from 0-to-60 mph in a tad over four ticks. But AMG fanatics with deeper pockets may want to wait for the faster (and even more expensive) 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG, set to debut at next month's 2012 New York International Auto Show. Mercedes claims the V-12-powered super Benz will blast to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. The SL65's secret weapon is its 6.0-liter, direct-injection, twin-turbo V-12, which produces 621 hp and a stump-pulling 738 lb-ft of torque, an evolution of the last-gen SL65's M275 V-12 mill, rated at 604 hp and 738 lb-ft. AMG engineers bolted on new turbochargers that provide up to 22 psi of boost; new manifolds and wastegate channels; and revised cylinder heads -- changes deemed significant enough to warrant the engine's new M279 designation. As with most new models in the AMG lineup, the SL65 will also get an ECO sta...

2013 SRT Viper
Most of what we thought about the development of the new Viper has come true. And this generation snake is an even more venomous evolution. The show car displayed here is essentially the same car that Fiat CEO, Sergio Marchionne, secretly showed to dealers back in 2010 just after the Viper plant was closed. Back then we’d devoted an issue to the Viper having reached the end of the line and not surprisingly speculated on its return. At the time Dodge’s CEO Ralph Gilles, who also happens to be responsible for all product design at the Chrysler Group, talked freely of his hopes that the car would return. And if he had his druthers’ it would be an evolution of the second generation and arguably more shapely Viper. He’s now the CEO of SRT and directly responsible for Viper. As it turns out while he was talking to us he already had a clay model of the next car in the design studio, that same car they showed to dealers. And here it is at the 2012 New York Auto Show less than two y...
By Shaun Bailey Posted Thursday, April 5, 2012Preview:2013 BMW i3 concept
BMW has finally given us our first official, undisguised look at its futuristic, all-electric city car. For now the i3 is still labeled a concept, but this car is much more complete than the MegaCity concept that preceded it. The four-passenger i3 concept is perhaps the most advanced take on electric cars yet, and draws on BMW's experience with a fleet of 600 Mini E and 1000 BMW ActiveE electric cars. Unlike those cars, however, which were traditional cars converted to electric drive, the i3 was developed from the ground up to accommodate electric propulsion. The i3 is built around a new chassis concept called LifeDrive, which divides the vehicle into sections for Life, the passenger compartment, and Drive, the powertrain and battery. For the i3, the bottom half of the car is the Drive section, and is made mostly of lightweight aluminum; the Life passenger compartment sits on top and is built from carbon-fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). Employing these lightweight materials keeps ...

Preview:2013 Ferrari 458 Spider
The Ferrari 458 Spider convertible body 458 Italy. This is a completely new model that replaces the F430 Spider. Their marketing is planned for 2012. The body is made of aluminum alloys by using different types and techniques and other fusion construct derived from the aerospace industry. The dimensions are identical to the coupe body, except the height, which is 2 mm lower. Thus, the Ferrari 458 Spider measured 4.53 m long, 1.94 m wide and 1.21 m high. Studied aerodynamics The aerodynamics of the body has been studied so that the benefits are virtually the same as the version bodybuilding. Furthermore, it asserts Ferrari, you can have a normal conversation without raising the tone, voice-to 200 km/h when driving with the top down. Thanks to improved aerodynamics, the body offers less resistance against the advance. Moreover, the rear diffuser is able to provide a downforce of 140 kg to 200 km/h. This fact makes us think that the 458 Italy has to offer an outstanding performance ...

Preview:2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta
Fast Facts: F12 Berlinetta replaces 599 GTB in Ferrari's lineup Front-mounted, mid-engine layout 6.3-liter V-12 engine with 740 horsepower 0-62 mph in 3.1 seconds Top speed of 211 mph "Fastest Ferrari ever built," according to its builder Exterior Features Ferrari has worked hard to improve fuel economy, lower emissions, increase downforce, and reduce aerodynamic drag with its new all-aluminum supercar, the 2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, which replaces the 599 GTB in the Italian automaker's lineup. One example of the detail work that has resulted in a claimed 0.299 coefficient of drag is the F12 Berlinetta's Active Brake Cooling system. When the brakes get hot, Active Brake Cooling opens exterior guide vanes to the brake cooling ducts, precluding the need for drag-inducing brake cooling ducts that are open all the time, whether or not they are required. The F12 Berli...

BMW i8 Concept. The most progressive sportscar.
BMW i8 Concept – emotional, dynamic and efficient. The concept car BMW Vision EfficientDynamics created excitement and very positive feedback at the IAA 2009. The BMW Vision EfficientDynamics made it clear that an emotional sports car with the fuel economy of a small car is no contradiction, but could soon be reality. After successful initial testing of the vehicle concept, the decision for a series-production vehicle was quickly made. The BMW i8 Concept is the next step in the evolution of the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept. The result: The most progressive and innovative sports car of its time. Its innovative plug-in hybrid concept combines the modified electric drive system from the BMW i3 Concept – fitted over its front axle – with a high-performance three-cylinder combustion engine producing 164 kW/220 hp and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) at the rear. 2013 BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe
The 2012 BMW 6-Series is a significant improvement on the previous model, in aesthetics, performance, and features. Today, a new model joins the 6-Series lineup: the Gran Coupe. A four-door take on the 6-Series theme, the new Gran Coupe was previewed at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show, and confirmed for production not long after by development chief Klaus Draeger. The wait for official details and specs is finally over. The standout feature of the car's design, the two additional doors, do surprisingly little to take away from the 6-Series' familiar coupe lines--the roofline still drops quite rapidly into the short rear deck, and the added length is absorbed by strong character lines and accent marks on along the sides. At launch, in early summer 2012, the Gran Coupe will be available in 640i form, powered by a turbocharged inline six-cylinder. Later in the summer, the 650i and 650i xDrive models will follow with twin-turbo V-8 power, and in the case of the xDrive model, all-wheel dr...

Preview:2013 Bentley Continental GT V8
Whenever I land in a strange place for one of these first drives of a new car, the first task at hand is to keep moving. Get off the plane, off the shuttle, and get out of the hotel room before jet lag lures me for "a short nap" and proceeds to take the rest of the day--the rest of the trip--hostage. I use my luggage as a human shield, dodging in quickly and walking right back out for at least an hour, to try to get some context, and some sunshine, because body clocks work better when they're on local time. When last I tried this, in stunning Croatia, where last we left Bentley's GTC in the embrace of a late warm fall day, I didn't evade the gravitational pull of the pillow quite as neatly. You'd be surprised how many Croatian TV stations stop broadcasting after 2 a.m. Today's context: Madrid. Spain's in something close to a depression, but the economic exuberance of the past 20 years, the relics of breakneck gentrification, are in full flourish. Magnificently restored old buildi...

2013 Bugatti 16C Galibier
It seems that Bugatti is trying to gain another success after they launched the Veyron model. Although the car is considered as one of the most expensive cars in the world, the sales numbers was quite impressive and satisfying. The manufacturer is now preparing the new 2013 Bugatti 16C Galibier, another model which is hoped to reach the similar success as the Veyron. Galibier was first shown at Geneva Motor Show 2010. From the initial appearance, it seems that the car is getting positive reviews from both car critics and fans. The 2013 Bugatti 16C Galibier concept is combining luxury, performance, style, and speed. The four doors model car will be available the following year after 2012, where is designed to be the year for Veyron. Just like Veyron, the Galibier will be produced only in limited numbers for the exclusivity. The manufacturer will only produce about 300 models. It’ll be running on 16 cylinder of 8.0 liter twin engine compressor that is able to produce about 10...
